Liberia’s basketball playoffs produced another night of high-intensity action as LPRC Oilers, D-Rockas, and Paynesville Bull Dogs booked their places in their respective finals with commanding semifinal victories, leaving fans eagerly anticipating who will lift this season’s trophies.

At the SKD Basketball Gym, LPRC Oilers continued their impressive run in the First Division Men’s League, defeating Spartacus 57-39 to secure a place in the championship game. The Oilers controlled the contest from start to finish with disciplined defense and efficient offense, proving once again why they remain one of the league’s strongest contenders.

Leading the charge was Amadu Sesay (#14), who earned Player of the Match honors after finishing with 14 points, 2 rebounds, and 0 assists. His scoring proved decisive as the Oilers punched another ticket to the league final.

Now awaiting their championship opponent, the Oilers will be hoping to complete their impressive campaign by capturing the First Division title.

In the Women’s Division, D-Rockas showcased their championship ambitions by completing a 2-0 sweep over Desert Ladies in their best-of-three semifinal series. The victory sends D-Rockas into the finals after another dominant team performance.

The undisputed star of the night was Michelle Nyanneh (#4), whose outstanding all-around performance earned her Player of the Match honors. Nyanneh poured in 23 points, grabbed 13 rebounds, and added 4 assists, leading her team on both ends of the floor and demonstrating why she is among the league’s elite players.

With momentum firmly on their side, D-Rockas now turn their attention to the championship series, where they will seek to crown an already remarkable postseason run.

Meanwhile, in the Second Division, Paynesville Bull Dogs completed a remarkable rise by defeating G – Highlanders 64-57, sealing the semifinal series 2-0 and earning promotion to the First Division.

The achievement marks an inspiring journey for the Bull Dogs. Just two year ago, they were competing in the Third Division before earning promotion to the Second Division. Last season, they fell just short of reaching the top flight, but this year they refused to let history repeat itself.

Leading the celebration was Michael Fayiah (#13), who delivered a superb performance with 17 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists to claim Player of the Match honors and guide his team to one of the club’s biggest victories.

The Bull Dogs now have the opportunity to complete their fairytale season by winning the Second Division championship before beginning life among Liberia’s basketball elite.

With three teams advancing in dramatic fashion, attention now shifts to the finals, where every possession will matter and champions will be crowned.

The biggest questions now are: Who will stand in the way of LPRC Oilers, D-Rockas, and Paynesville Bull Dogs in their respective finals? Can these in-form teams finish what they started and lift the championship trophies?

If their semifinal performances are any indication, basketball fans are in for an unforgettable finale.
