As we enter into the new year and embark on a new journey in our quest for a prosperous Liberia, I would like to firstly thank God Almighty for his bountiful blessings, protection and guidance bestowed upon us; and would like to further wish each and every one of you a Happy and prosperous new year.
Let me further commend our international and development partners for their immense support to our Government and People over the years, but most especially during the first year of our Administration. We applaud them for standing with us, and we look forward to a renewed and strengthened partnership as we move into 2019.
2018 was a year of new beginnings for our Administration and the dawn of a new era for our Nation. It was a year filled with unmatched achievements, new set of challenges and profound opportunities.
I must admit, that despite the huge tasks we were confronted with, we became successful in our quest for a better Liberia because of our fortitude, strength in unity, and our overall collective efforts. Consequently, We are stronger now than we were when we started; and I have no shadow of a doubt that our best days are ahead of us.
As we reflect on our past and look towards the future, it is my prayer that we will forge a new path in sustaining the peace, promote unity amongst our people, and effectively utilize every opportunity accorded us as we work collectively in building a better Liberia for all.
I reckon that we were able to sail through the past year successfully because of your prayers, support and cooperation; and I’m looking forward to more of your involvement and engagement as we take on new responsibilities and cultivate solutions in addressing the challenges that lie ahead.
In anticipation of a blessed and prosperous 2019, it is my ardent hope that we will begin the new year with dynamism and a positive approach towards nation building by choosing hope over fear, love over hate, and peace over chaos. I am reminded time and time again, that we are a better people when we refuse to be pessimistic about the future, but rather remain hopeful that the end will be rewarding and beneficial for the common good of us all.
As we move into the new year, It is my desire that we will forget the past, explore new frontiers; and forge a new partnership of trust, patriotism and unity in taking our Country to higher heights.
With God above, we are bound for success. May God Bless you all and may God Bless Liberia. Happy New Year!
